The
heart valve which as an inlet allows unoxygenated blood to flow
from the right atrium to the right ventricle of the heart (see
figure 104A-105D, 106B). It has three leaflets attached to a
ring of fibrous tissue called the annulus.
It is attached distally to the heart papillary muscles through
fibrous strands called chordae tendineae. The three leaflets
are demarcated by commissures (spaces) located along the valve
annular attachments.
