Tricuspid Valve

The heart valve which as an inlet allows unoxygenated blood to flow from the right atrium to the right ventricle of the heart (see figure 104A-105D, 106B). It has three leaflets attached to a ring of fibrous tissue called the annulus.
It is attached distally to the heart papillary muscles through fibrous strands called chordae tendineae. The three leaflets are demarcated by commissures (spaces) located along the valve annular attachments.
